The JET Deluxe Xacta Cabinet Saw is the largest and best table saw made by JET. It comes in a 3HP and 5HP model, and each model can be extended from a 30-inch rip capacity to 50 inches. It is larger and more powerful than the JET Proshop II table saw.
Key features of this saw include the cast-iron table (and extension tables), the quick-release riving knife and arbor lock. On the table top is a button that can be pressed to lock the arbor into place. This makes it easier to change the blade.
The Deluxe Xacta comes with two riving knives: one which can be fitted with a blade guard, and one that stays lower than the top of the saw blade. Because the riving knife is attached to the trunnion system, it lowers and raises along with the blade. This allows you to make through cuts (like grooves and dados) without removing the riving knife. This makes the machine a lot more secure.
The riving knives are secured with a clever lever, meaning you don’t need tools to switch them around. Similarly, the blade guard can also be attached and removed without any tools.
The sturdy fence is made of steel with sides of very smooth HDPE, making wood sliding along the fence move very efficiently. The fence also has a magnified indicator to show the exact position on the scales. This can be finely adjusted by loosening two screws.
Solid table saw with all the features you want in a cabinet saw, for a decent price. Finishing quality seems to fluctuate however.
