The JET JPT 260 is a solid stationary jointer planer aimed at (serious) hobbyists. It is sold in Europe and a few other places, but not in North America. It is the smaller brother of the JET JJP-12 / JPT 310.
For the most part the JPT 260 is identical to its larger brother, but it does miss the upgrade to a spiral cutterblock. This is not an essential feature, but it does make it stand out less, and it has more competition that offer similar quality and features. The price does make up for this though.
The JPT 260 has cast iron tables that fold upwards simultaneously. There is a safety spring that pops into position to prevent the tables accidentally falling down. The machine is available in both a 230V and 400V version.
The machine has a European-style blade guard, which can be raised/lowered with a knob. The infeed roller is made of metal, but the outfeed roller has a rubber coating, which may degrade in quality over time.
One of the more reliable and proven machines in this price range.
