Inca Spindle Moulder 344.021

The Inca 344.021 (US model 659) was the lighter of two spindle moulders (also called shapers) that Inca made. It had a cast aluminium top, with a miter slot that could fit the same miter gauge that also fit on the Inca Major Table Saw.

There are both versions with 20 and 30mm spindle heads. For the 30mm version, according to the manual, the height adjustment was about 100mm. The largest cutter diameter that was allowed was 160mm.

The table was about 520 by 520mm, but there was also a table extension that could be fitted that looks similar to what was available to the Inca Major Table Saw.

Its larger sibling, the Inca 344.070 (US model 660) had a cast iron top and a 30mm spindle head size. In combination with a more powerful motor, this allowed for deeper and more complex cuts than the smaller version. It also had a more standard miter slot.

Also included with the machine was a top arm to push workpieces and keep them aligned with the fence.

Compared to other Inca machines this is quite a rare machine that is not that often found on the used market. An assortment of different cutters were available from Inca themselves (see manual and images for examples).
