The Kity 617 table saw is a small but solid machine from the 1970s. The saw was powered by a separate motor connected with a pulley. This motor could be underneath the table, or on the table top.
It comes with a standard mitre gauge and fence, but there was also an extension rail available which added a small sliding-table for cross-cutting. The sliding table also fits on the Kity Spindle Moulder 627.
Kity machines were often sold as a set on one large table, operated with one motor in the middle. These machines were sold as a package, and are the same as the ‘normal’ versions.

Anyone know where I can get a blade to fit a kitty 617 please
I don’t think you need a special blade, as long as it fits the 15mm arbor. If it doesn’t, you can use a reducer ring.
My Kity 617 (bought new in 1991) has a tilting table. It also came with a 2 speed pulley, with the higher speed intended for cutting formica.
Do you know where I can get a replacement belt for a 617
Where can I obtain a drive belt for a
Kity 617
Hi Thomas,
There is one French store (their site is also in English) with a lot of Kity spare parts. They seem to sell spare belts for the 617. This is the link: https://www.probois-machinoutils.com/en/belts-old-machines-kity/487-flat-belt-1120×20-mm-for-the-circular-saw-kity-617.html
Alternatively you can buy them through eBay.co.uk, but that is the same French company.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
sorry to bud in as I am unfamiliar with this saw. I just replaced the long belt on my Inca that was a poor fit with the base I took off a different Inca. I used a link belt, the kind that can be custom adjusted for length. These fit standard V belt drives, so if that is what these have, then it should be perfect.
They have some advantages: These can be fit for length, which is great as guessing lengths can end up being costly. They are supposed to be quieter, and transmit drive better.
They stretch in initial use as the links settle in, You might have to adjust the length after initial use, though I have not had that problem.
The big problem was always cost, but I got one off Amazon for a decent price, and was happy to have it. A number of the discounters now sell them. They used to 9-15 Can dollars a foot, now one can get them for 30 dollars for 5 foot.
Does this saw have a quiet induction motor?
Thanks
Bob
