The Elektra Beckum HC 300 jointer planer is a continuation and nearly identical copy of the Metabo ADH 1630. After Metabo bought Elektra Beckum, they released this machine under the Elektra Beckum name. After the Elektra Beckum brand was scrapped, they continued it as the Metabo HC 300, which is 99% the same machine.
There were two versions: The HC 300 W, the 230 Volt version with 1850 Watt power, and the HC 300 D, the 400 Volt version with 2800 Watt motor, making it significantly more powerful.
It is not 100% clear where this machine was built, but since its twin brother, the ADH 1630, was built in the Lurem factories in France, that probably also goes for this machine. It was also marketed as the Emco MH30.
This machine also had a patented anti-kickback system.
Replacement Blades: There are still a few places selling replacement blades for the HC 300. You can find them on eBay, Amazon Germany, or on this German website.
High quality machine based on the Metabo Magnum series. Can be expensive.

hi my machine work well as a thicknesser but when changed to a planer it wont start
Hi Jeff, I’m not familiar with this machine myself, but some machines have a trigger that requires the dust extraction hood to be in a position to allow the machine to run. Try putting the dust extraction hood in the position described in the manual, and check if it starts.
