The Kity 2636 Jointer Planer is a relatively heavy and sturdy machine, but with a jointing and planing capacity similar to smaller, moveable machines. The Kity 2638 is its larger brother, but apart from size nearly identical.
This machine was continued under the name Plana 3.0c after Scheppach took over Kity. It was produced by Scheppach in China rather than France, so although it still bears the Kity name it should really be considered a Scheppach machine.
Although the quality of this machine is unclear, especially due to it not being made in the original French factory, it is more advanced and fully-featured compared to other vintage jointer planers.
It has tables that swing upwards, rather than detach, and the fence and blade guard are more sophisticated than older machines.
There are several current machines by cheap brand names that are nearly identical, such as the Holzmann HOB 260NL. These companies probably order them from the Scheppach factory in China.
