The Metabo HC 333 jointer planer is a continuation and nearly identical copy of the Metabo ADH 310 from the Magnum series. The only difference seems to be that the ADH 310 came with self-adjusting blades, whereas the HC 333 comes with standard blades.
There are a few differences between the HC 333 (and ADH 310) and the smaller Metabo jointer planers (ADH 260 and ADH 1630). Firstly, the entire jointing table is made from cast-iron (and not aluminium). Secondly, mortising table and table extension were available as optional attachments, which was not the case on the smaller machines.
The fence is secured both front and back, minimizing potential flex when pushing on the far ends.
Initially this machine was also marketed as the Elektra Beckum HC 333, but that changed when Metabo decided to scrap the Elektra Beckum brand.
