The Jet JJP-10BTOS is a 10-inch benchtop jointer planer, and one of the most affordable machines of this size. It is the larger version of the Jet JJP-8BT, which has a jointing width of only 8 inches.
The tables are made from cast aluminium, which keeps the weight of the machine low. However, they are not attached to the base very well, making it so that the infeed table can very easily go out of alignment with the outfeed table. This is a major issue, and many users complain about this.
Although you can’t expect a professional machine for this price, even smaller machines like the Jet JJP-8BT get much better user reviews. Despite their drawbacks, they are very usable machines. In the case of the Jet JJP-10BTOS, there are too many negative reviews to be able to recommend this machine to anyone.
The planer function of this machine does a decent job. With 1500 watts (about 2 horsepower), it is quite powerful. It also has an extended outfeed table for the planer, which helps with eliminating snipe.
Replacement Blades: If you need new blades for your Jet JJP-10BTOS, you can find some replacements on Amazon, or here on eBay.
Barely usable, not a very good machine. Best to save for more expensive machines, or look at higher quality vintage ones.
