The Scheppach HMS 4000 jointer planer is a large, sturdy machine from the HMS series. It is the larger brother of the HMS 3200, but with a few significant upgrades.
The main upgrades the HMS 4000 has over the 3200 are the cast aluminium table, which is much more reliable than sheet metal, and the ability to set two different feed rates for the planer. It also has 3 knives instead of two, which helps in getting better planing results.
Additionally, there is also a mortising table attachment available, which does not exist for the HMS 260 or 3200.
Because it is a large, more industrial machine it is only available in a 400v version.
