The Hammer N4400 band saw has a great price/performance ratio, making it an attractive machine for hobbyists and semi-professionals to get professional quality for a price that is in range of enthusiasts as well.

This saw is the big brother of the Hammer N3800. The main difference between the two is the size.

It usually sells just above the 2000 USD or EUR mark, and can be upgraded with multiple features. The most popular feature is probably the X-LIFE Ceramic blade guides. You can also add a laser guide, table extensions to the back and front, and even convert the saw to a sanding station.

The N4400 is made in Austria and possibly parts in Italy as well, by band saw manufacturer ACM.

  1. Where can I buy the hammer and 4400 for under $2000?

    • Hi Paul, you can find slightly used or demo models for just under €2000 on Felder’s special website called World 4 Machines. Prices may vary and to see the current price you need to make an account.

      Hope that helps!

  2. Hello,

What is the part number for drive vbelt for Hammer 4400?

I had odered what I was told by a former dealer it is a SPZ 1000.

The new belt ( SPZ 1000) is belt is at least 40-60 mm too short even with motor tensioner screw loosened as far as it will go.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  3. Where should the blade sit on a N4400 bandsaw. the manual says in the middle of the wheel. But with the wheel flat compared other bandsaws does this damage the tips of the saw teeth and also the tips of the teeth damage the rubber on the wheel. I recall someone saying that the teeth should slightly overhang the rubber on this machine? Also I am having trouble getting the back of the saw exactly blade perpendicular to the table top ~89.5%

    • Hi Alec,
My N4400 has the same problem then yours. My back of the blade is 4mm out off angle, measured with a 30cm long starret.
It seems to me a production type of thing but cannot it digure out yet.
My question: How did you solve your problem?

Please let me know, Tony Weernink
