The SCM Minimax CU 410e (elite) is a high-end five-function combination machine. After the CU 410 Elite S, this is the largest and most sophisticated machine from SCM’s combo series.
It is also similar to the CU 410 Classic, but it has several upgrades and more attention to detail. It has a longer frame/body to support a longer sliding table (up to 3200 mm) and its jointer/planer has two feed rates. It also has integrated, folding handwheels instead of the removable ones found on cheaper models. The jointer tables are also slightly longer.
The jointer/planer cutterhead can be upgraded to a Tersa system or SCM’s own Xylent spiral cutters. These make less noise, last longer, and generally achieve better results.
Some of the most useful upgrades are a cast iron mortising table, tenoning table for the shaper/moulder, and various numerical readouts for accurate positioning.
