The SCM Minimax SC 1G (Genius) is the entry level panel saw of the Minimax range by SCM. It is aimed mainly at hobbyists. It is also sold as the Holzkraft Minimax SC 1G in Germany and Austria. It is the smaller brother of the SCM Minimax SC2 Classic, which can handle a larger saw blade, has more rip capacity, and a longer sliding table.
The SCM Minimax range is a direct competitor of the Hammer machines, and are offered at a similar price level. The SC 1G is slightly cheaper than comparable Hammer machines.
The table is made from cast iron, while the sliding table is made of aluminium. SCM machines are manufactured for the most part in Italy.
