The Hammer C3 41 Perform is the largest of all the Hammer C3 combination machines. Its design is similar to that of the C3 31 Perform, with both having a longer sliding table and more support from the base. They do both lack the Felder-based longer panel saw body of the K4 and B3 Perform though. Whether this has any impact on practical use is unclear.

Like all the other C3 machines, the C3 41 Perform has five functions: A panel saw and spindle moulder (like the B3 series), and a jointer-planer with the possibility to add a mortising table (like the A3 41 jointer planer).

The difference with the smaller C3 41 machines is that the Perform has an even longer sliding table (with better support on the base), and a wide outrigger table and crosscut fence. This makes the machine very suited for cutting sheet goods.

One shortcoming of this machine seems to be that if you cut large sheet goods (which is most likely the case if you buy a large machine like this), the on-off switch is on the right of the sliding table. This means the on-off switch is hidden underneath the panel when you want to cut using the outrigger table.

What we don't like

  • Time spent switching between modes
  • On-off switch in a less than ideal place

What we like

  • Great build quality
  • Five functions in one machine
  • Takes up less space than five separate machines

  1. I have a shop that is 20′ X 20′. How much space is required to operate the Hammer C3 41 Perform to include machine operating safety clearances?
